“We want photographs of people using their phones and enjoying themselves!”

Client: Truespeed

Agency: Favour The Brave

Art Director: Sarah Stratford

This was the brief I was given for this campaign. The shoot was to be at Bath Rugby Club at one of their busiest games of the season against neighbours Bristol - a bit of local rivalry!

There was no need for model releases so I was given free reign to shoot where I wanted. Truespeed had just installed WiFi in the stadium (very impressive speeds) and they wanted as much branding included as possible.

Most of the shots were candid so I was relying heavily on my street photography experience (always a useful skill to learn). And as I knew there would be a lot of ground to cover and many shots I divided the today into 3 different types of scenarios:

  1. natural light - bright

  2. Flash lighting

  3. natural light - dark and moody.

It was a very overcast and dull day in the middle of the winter - which helped on some shots and made some more difficult!

I used a 35mm lens and a 105mm macro and an on camera flash set to manual.
